  LIFEGUARDS & SWIM INSTRUCTORS

Special Certifications or Requirements: First Aid, CPR/AED Pro, Lifeguarding certifications required. Experience in area of expertise recommended. WSI and/or Y-Swim Instructor Certification preferred
Job Duties: Lifeguard the 6 lane main pool and a zero depth family pool. Swim Instructors teach swimming lessons to infants through adults.
   
  WATER FITNESS INSTRUCTORS

Job Duties: Teach group exercise and deep water exercise to adults. Lead safe and effective water fitness classes. Utilization of resistance tools, shallow and deep water modalities as well as customer service skills a must.

Special Certifications or Requirements: Certification in Group Exercise required. Prefer experience teaching fitness classes and/or education in exercise science or related field. Basic knowledge of choreography, conditioning principles, and exercise physiology required. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to lead and motivate members.

  SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE LEAD AND ASSISTANT TEACHERS

Special Certifications or Requirements: Lead teachers must be 18 years old and have completed at least 80 hours of approved coursework in child development or a related field. Experience working with school-age children preferred.Assistant teachers must be 18 years old or have completed the DPI approved assistant childcare course. Experience working with school-age children preferred.
Job Duties: Provide primary care to children ages 5 - 12. Responsible for monitoring attendance, planning projects, organizing activities, providing snacks; and providing communication between the YMCA, the families, and the children. All centers are state licensed. Madison sites are city accredited.
   
  YOUTH ZONE STAFF
