Swim Lessons Testimonial

"Overall, my son's swim lessons at the Y are very well run and organized, very friendly staff, everyone works well together. I am extremely pleased. This is a well-run program. Tianna and her assistant (along with any sub teachers) take the time to answer my questions. They also interact will with Owen and all have taken the time to learn his name and personality. I feel confident with them taking care of my child while in class"

-Jo (Owen's mother)

Swim Lessons help children hop the gapKids and teens need support
during summer months, while they’re away from the enriching activities, organized play, and positive supervision that school provides. Without summertime support, gaps in learning, hunger and safety appear. The YMCA of Dane County helps our local youth navigate these gaps and challenges by providing meaningful programs, like swim lessons, that nurture and build mind, body, and spirit.

Teaching the World to Swim

Leo Majcher changed many lives for the better over the course of his career as a swim instructor at the Y. In this audio story, Pam Suprenant of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts talks about Leo's positive impact more than 50 years ago and today. She is joined by Bob Rogers, who learned to swim in Leo's classes back in the 1950s, and Leo's son, Mark Majcher.
