| The YMCA Special Olympics Track and Field team took on athletes from around the state and brought home a lot of medals, including five first-place finishes! The competition was held June 9-11, and our athletes did an amazing job not only in their events, but also in demonstrating the Y's CORE values. Each individual performance displayed our athletes' hard work, dedication and self-confidence through positive competition. Seeing their success is meaningful because it reinforces our goals as a cause-driven, non-profit organization. Through Track and Field and other Adaptive programs, the YMCA of Dane County serves individuals with a variety of special needs and helps create lifetime bonds between the athletes, their coaches and the larger community. |
