YMCA of Dane County, Inc Launches Annual Support Campaign
Madison, WI. March, 2015 – Our members and friends call us THEIR Y. We call them OUR greatest resource—the thousands of people who work alongside us and support our work to help our neighbors learn, grow and thrive.
What if we could harness all of that power to make an even greater difference on a bigger scale?
With programs from A to Z—like athletics to advocacy, dance classes to disease prevention, volleyball to volunteerism—we don’t just strengthen individuals, we strengthen our community. Yet there is so much more to do.
Every day, the YMCA of Dane County, Inc. serves as a gathering place for the community. Youth and teens pour in after school to play, do homework; they meet in the gym for a game of basketball. Seniors meet for exercise, group activities and to socialize. To ensure that the Y can continue to provide Dane County residents with life enhancing services, the YMCA of Dane County, Inc. is launching its annual support campaign.
Dane County faces new challenges that create a greater need for the work we do. Fortunately, where some see obstacles, we see opportunities for our members, volunteers, staff, and generous donors like you to make a difference. Last year the YMCA of Dane County awarded over $700,000 in financial support to make it possible for thousands of recipients in Dane County to grow physically, intellectually and spiritually.
“We all need the Y because our organization works every day to nurture the potential of kids, improve health and well-being and help neighbors support one another,” said Carrie Wall, President and CEO, YMCA of Dane County, Inc. “With our annual support campaign, we want more people to understand that we are more than where to go to exercise or swim – and that we rely on their financial support to do our vital work.”
No other organization can impact as many people as powerfully as we do every day. As a leading nonprofit for strengthening community, financial gifts to the Y will help Dane County advance programming and services that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. More importantly, gifts to the YMCA make a direct impact on residents’ right here in Dane County.
