Special Certifications or Requirements: Enthusiastic, experienced professional to oversee programs for children birth to age six, and families. Requires a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, and CPR certification.

Job Duties: Responsibilities include supervision of preschool enrichment classes, drop in nursery, and all family special events. Must have strong skills in organization, supervision, budget, and staff development. Must be a team player with a commitment to quality programming and the YMCA mission.

 

SUN PRAIRIE CENTER DIRECTOR

Pay Range: $34,000 – 38,000

Special Certifications or Requirements: Energetic, innovative, self motivated professional sought . Preference given to candidates with a strong background in aquatics, school age child care, fitness, and program development. Must have or attain within 30 days of hire, certification in CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens. Requires strong skills in communication, leadership, supervision, fiscal management, and site fund raising. The ideal candidate will be committed to the YMCA mission, the four core values, and quality programming.

Job Duties: Oversee all aspects of programming and operations at the Sun Prairie YMCA Program Center. Accountable for meeting goals for center budget, facility maintenance, scheduling and marketing of programs/membership. Directly oversee 5 department directors at center and manager on duty staff. Effectively serve as a liaison between members, staff, and Member Services and Program Committee.

Pay Rate: $6.50 – 7.50 per hour + adult membership

Special Certifications or Requirements: Must be dependable, friendly, and enjoy people. Basic computer and phone skills preferred. Excellent customer service skills.

Job Duties: Greet members and respond to their needs and questions, answer phones, process program and member registration, enthusiastically give out membership and program information.



OFFICE ASSISTANT – MEMBER SERVICES

Days & Hours: 16-19 hours per week, day time hours, flexible scheduling

Pay Rate: $6.50 per hour + adult membership

Special Certifications or Requirements: Must be dependable, detail oriented and flexible. Basic computer skills preferred.

Job Duties: Filing, data entry, miscellaneous clerical tasks.

 

 

GYMNASTICS INSTRUCTOR

Pay Rate: $8.00 - $9.00

Special Certifications or Requirements: Background in gymnastics with an emphasis on tumbling. Teaching experience preferred, but will train the right person.

Job Duties: Teach Level 1 gymnastics to PK-3 students.

 

 

CHILD CARE WORKER - NURSERY

Special Certifications or Requirements: Good interpersonal skills, initiative, reliable, helpful attitude.

Job Duties: Provide a safe nurturing, environment for children ages 6 weeks – 7 years old. Check children in and out. Maintain a good relationship with parents and children.

 

 

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Days & Hours: 2 days a week (M-F) 12:30pm – 4:30pm

Pay Rate: $8.50 + YMCA Adult Membership

Special Certifications or Requirements: Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred. Must at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Job Duties: Plan and implement daily activities in the community for small groups of individuals. Encourage independence and educate participants in skills using the community (money management, communicating with the public, social skills, etc.)

 

SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE LEAD & ASSISTANT TEACHERS

Days & Hours: Part time hours - 15 – 20 hours / week, Mon – Fri, must be available until 6:00pm

Pay Rate: Based on experience & education $7-10/per hour

Special Certifications or Requirements: Energetic, reliable, love children. Experience and education preferred. Call for more information. Must be available 2:30pm – 6:00pm at least two days per week.

Job Duties: Provide primary care to children in ages 5 – 11. Responsible for monitoring attendance, planning projects, organizing activities, providing snacks; and providing communication between the YMCA , the parents, and the children. All centers are state licensed. Madison sites are city certified.

Special Certifications or Requirements: Certification in Life Guarding, CPR Pro & First Aid . Those wishing to instruct should be WSI certified or have a background in YMCA swimming instruction.

Job Duties: Lifeguard & teach swimming. Ensure the safety of all participants.

YOUTH CENTER ATTENDANT

Special Certifications or Requirements: Person who is comfortable working with teens, and who enjoys their company. Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Job Duties: Assist the Manager in organization, decisions, planning and implementation of activities. Ability to communicate effectively with teens.
