  The Y is helping you live better with a 10-month program developed in collaboration with Stanford Prevention Research Center. In a group setting, you will be inspired to change your own behaviors as you work with others who have common experiences, goals and struggles. Register at the front desk. Enrollment is on a continuous basis.

  The Y and LIVESTRONG have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. Learn More.
 
The YMCA of Dane County wants you to exercise your options when it comes to your Health. We offer many classes and activities that fit into any busy schedule, for any age and activity level. Program descriptions and fees are available in the Program Guide.

We think it is important to get 3 types of exercise:
1. Cardiovascular/Aerobic Exercise - burning body fat, stronger heart, lower blood pressure.
2. Muscle Strength/Endurance Training - stronger muscles, stronger bones, increased metabolism
3. Flexibility Training - maintain range of motion, prevent muscle strain, reduce muscle soreness.
