LIVESTRONG® AT THE YMCA
Partners in Healing the Whole Person
Adult cancer survivors can reclaim their health and well-being through this evidence-based program. Survivors can improve strength & physical fitness, diminish the severity of therapy side effects, develop supportive relationships and improve their quality of life. This 12-week program has a decade-long track record of success and includes cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance and flexibility exercises facilitated by YMCA-certified instructors. LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA focuses on the whole person, not the disease. Participants meet twice a week for 90 minutes, using traditional exercise methods to ease back into fitness and help maintain a healthy weight and focus on:
Plus, learn about wellness, stress reduction techniques and how to continue healthful habits after the program has ended. Just as important, LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA encourages a warm spirit of community—a safe, comfortable place to build companionship with others affected by cancer and share stories and inspiration. |
